Happy Birthday President Monson

I got to sing "Happy Birthday" in person to Pres. Monson on Thursday!
Here is the story:
I serve at the Baptistry in the Salt Lake Temple on Thursdays. The General Authorities meet in the Temple on Thursdays. They come down the elevator and leave the Temple for the tunnel back to the Church administration building by way of the hall by the Baptistry. Church Security is always there, but often we gather and watch the general authorities parade by.

Pres. Monson is always extremely friendly to those gathered to watch them leave. Those gathered knew it was his 81st birthday that very day, so someone said "Happy Birthday" to him. He stopped and said, "Aren't you going to sing?" We took him up on the invitation and sang. When we finished the last line, "Happy Birthday to you," he motioned with his hand letting us know he wanted to hear the little addition: "And many more!" It was a special moment for all of us who were gathered there!
The photo was actually taken at my last Stake Conference. Pres. Monson is in my stake. He stayed after the meeting and visited with many people. He even sat down and played a little ditty on the piano for the children who were gathered around him. One of the Young Women in my ward took the photo with her cell phone.

What a wonderful experience. Did you write about it in your journal?

That's so neat! I didn't realize you still were in the temples Thursday mornings. That was fun when we used to see you there.
